Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Manager to oversee our accounts receivable department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the collection process, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the collections team to ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding accounts receivable.
- Oversee account reconciliation processes and ensure all debits and credits are accurately recorded.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to improve cash flow and reduce delinquency rates.
- Monitor accounts for discrepancies and resolve issues related to billing or payment disputes.
- Utilize accounting software to track collections, generate reports, and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their accounts, utilizing strong phone etiquette to foster positive relationships.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in medical collections, including the use of medical terminology and coding as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to address any issues related to billing or account management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts receivable management or a similar role, preferably within a medical setting.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, including debits, credits, and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and terminology is highly desirable.
- Proficient in accounting software and comfortable using technology for data management.
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to analyze financial data accurately.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
