Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the administrative and operational leadership of the engineering team.
- Develop comprehensive FTTH network designs, including fiber optic cable routing, splicing points, and equipment placement, considering capacity needs and future scalability.
- Utilize GIS mapping tools to plan network topology and optimize fiber routes.
- Analyze site surveys and environmental factors to determine optimal installation method
- Lead and manage FTTH project teams, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Establish project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics to track progress and identify potential risks.
- Monitor project execution, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions to maintain project quality and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to fiber optic network deployment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Review and approve technical specifications for equipment, materials, and construction methods.
- Conduct quality checks on network installations to verify signal strength and performance.
- Develop and maintain operational efficiencies across multiple platforms.
- Lead the effort to continually update best practices, permit processes, field construction methods, and telecom products.
- Advise other managers and Executives on the status of work, including weekly reports, updates and project tracking
- Design Fiber to the Home OSP facilities using best practices and industry knowledge.
- Develop review vendor-produced FTTH designs to ensure they meet strict Ezee Fiber design standards.
- Identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities and select routing of lines and equipment required for work projects.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and other geographic data for consideration in FTTH design projects.
- Support OSP construction teams as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the department.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or 5-7 years of relevant work experience, is required.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, network design principles, and FTTH deployment methodologies
- Expertise in GIS mapping software and network planning tools
- Proven project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and risk mitigation
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to effectively interact with cross-functional teams
- Technical knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Experience with fiber optic testing equipment and network performance monitoring tools
- In-depth knowledge of FTTH/Telecom industry design principles.
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects coupled with experience in working with fast-paced engineering in a production environment.
- Must be a responsible, motivated individual without the need for daily oversights.
