Being a machine shop in the heart of Elkhart, In we offer a diversity of services to our customers including CNC milling, turning, swiss turning, Wire EDM, and screw machines work. We are a growing shop with 35 employees that gives us a great family atmosphere and the ability for our employees to grow in their careers.
JOB SUMMARY
The CNC Mill Machinist Lead is responsible lead a milling department. They will be implementing the daily machine schedule within the department, oversee Setup Machinists and Operators, programming with Esprit CAM software, setting up CNC milling machines, loading / editing the part program, setting up or making fixtures, running and submitting First Article Inspections to quality and passing jobs off to skilled operators.
Responsibilities include :
- Oversight of the milling department and employees
- Implementing the schedule
- Programming proficiently in Esprit CAM milling software.
- Being capable to setup and operate CNC Vertical mills, including making and setting up fixtures, Loading and editing programs, making first article parts and presenting them to quality for inspection.
- Be able to troubleshoot setups to get parts running to print and within cycle times.
- Identify proper gaging for jobs
- Document inspections as required
- Be able to pass jobs off to CNC Operators by instructing the operator on the job requirements.
- Additional items as assigned by manager

This position interacts with other trades in and outside their area including CNC Machinists, CNC Operators, Quality Control, Supervisors, Project Managers, and Engineering.
