Job Title: Quality Technician
Reports To: Quality Manager
Location: Rome, GA
Schedule: Full-time
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for the PM, continuous improvement and overall equipment efficiency.
Occupation Specific Tasks:
- Troubleshoot, modify, and make repairs and modifications to mechanical devices such as gearboxes, cylinders, valves, flow controls and pneumatic devices.
- Cutting, welding, and machining of steel for maintenance of production equipment.
- Enter all jobs into the tech data base on a daily basis.
- Understanding of drawings, blue prints, CMM data
- Capable of making jig modifications
- Construct Sort activity Time Line
- Capable of ordering parts
- Attend start up meetings with floor associates and supervisor. Document any concerns discussed on shift report
- Confirm startup and PY checks are being completed properly
- Check spot tip boards
- Check robots and jigs for excessive spatter build up
- Confirm associates are following SOP’s (2 per shift)
- Confirm carbon copy at start of shift. Confirm correct electrode/guide pins are being used & condition
- Confirm physical destructs are being performed
- Visual quality of parts
- Confirm weld studies are being done at every line (including weld lengths) as scheduled
- Associates are cleaning jigs correctly and checking spatter guards
- Associates are performing 100% weld inspection at each weld cell in proper sequence
- Perform one nut welder audit and Poke bypass audit
- Pin outs for all parts
- Assembly and weld department rework, also including QA Hold area
- 5P/8D root cause analysis and investigation
- Confirm Lot date is present and legible on all pin-Out parts
Education, Training and Experience:
- Associates Degree or technical diploma in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Technology or 3 years equivalent in experience and schooling.
- Experience working with mechanical components and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints,
- Achieve a “Work Keys” score of level 4
- The successful candidate will be required to pass a written test (75%) on electrical and mechanical applications before their 90-day probation period is completed.
- Robotic training and experience
- Programmable Logic Controller training and experience
