Job Description
Experienced SolarWinds Engineer for a 4–6 month remote contract to lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of SolarWinds monitoring solutions within a healthcare IT infrastructure.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SolarWinds implementation, along with experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
- This individual will collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to design and roll out scalable monitoring solutions that support high availability and visibility across critical systems.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of SolarWinds modules (NPM, NTA, SAM, NCM, etc.) in a healthcare IT environment.
- Design and implement customized monitoring strategies for servers, applications, network devices, and cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
- Work with stakeholders to define alerting thresholds, performance baselines, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and alert systems tailored to operational and compliance needs.
- Integrate SolarWinds with other tools (e.g., ServiceNow, SNMP traps, Syslog collectors).
- Ensure solutions align with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
- Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to internal teams.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with SolarWinds platform deployment and administration.
- Deep expertise in modules such as NPM, SAM, NCM, and/or NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA).
- Prior experience deploying or managing monitoring tools in healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with network protocols, SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, and Syslog.
- Experience integrating SolarWinds with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and HIPAA best practices.
- SolarWinds SCP (Certified Professional) certification.
- Experience with Azure or AWS environments.
- Background in scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automation.
- Prior consulting or contractor experience is a plus.
