Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle billing inquiries.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Utilize medical office management software such as Athenahealth or Meditech for daily operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
- Address patient inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
- Proficiency in insurance verification processes and understanding of medical billing practices.
- Familiarity with medical office management systems (e.g., Athenahealth, Meditech) is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
