Inside Sales/Customer Support

Job Summary: Sells goods for manufacturers where technical knowledge is required. Facilitate information to and from necessary departments.    

Essential Job Functions:

• Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
• Provide quoted prices, credit terms and other bid specifications.
• Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers’ needs.
• Negotiate on behalf of company, pricing, terms and etc.
• Update and maintain the flow of information related to customer specific portals
• Manage communications and quotations brought forth from sales rep agencies.
• Achieve growth and sales targets as described by company.
• Maintain customer records, using provided systems.
• Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows.
• Prepare sales contracts, and submit orders for processing.
• Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers’ needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Review and address discrepancies in the quoting log.
• Provide monthly sales reporting to management team as described.
• Follow-up on delinquent quotes.
• Manage customer issues and complaints.
• Train Customer Service Representative on proper procedures.
• Update quoting log with win/loss results.
• Work with Quoting department to resolve customer questions, regarding specifications, material, inventory, pricing, delays, scheduling and requotes.
• Timely submission of company related travel expense reporting
• Assist in maintaining and managing sales and marketing budgets
• Use of computer to perform job responsibilities and duties.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Knowledge of computer software. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.

Physical Qualifications if Needed: Must be able to speak, actively listen and communicate in an effective manner. Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.

Education if Needed: High school diploma or equivalent, A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill.

Safety and Environment Requirements: Mostly works in a climate-controlled office.

Training Required if Needed: Basic safety training, any additional education/training required to successfully perform job duties.

Additional Responsibilities if Needed: 

• Ability to travel to customer locations as needed for meetings and etc.
• Attend educational requirements as necessary
• Keep office/work area clean
• Keep selling material organized
• Must have good attendance
