Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments of sheet metal parts, raw materials, and finished products. This role ensures accurate documentation, quality control, and efficient handling of materials to support production and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer specifications and industry standards.
- Verify outgoing shipments against work orders, packing lists, and invoices for accuracy.
- Arrange freight, courier, and LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) shipments as needed.
- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL) and tracking information.
- Safely load trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment.
- Communicate with logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Receiving:
- Inspect and verify incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Check for defects, damages, or missing items and report discrepancies to the appropriate department.
- Unload and properly store raw materials, such as sheet metal, fasteners, and fabrication components.
- Update inventory records and maintain an organized warehouse.
General Duties:
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
- Coordinate with production, quality control, and purchasing departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow safety regulations and company policies regarding hazardous materials, equipment, and general workplace safety.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or sheet metal environment.
- Proficiency in inventory software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to read blueprints, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS, SAP, or similar).
- Knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and fabrication processes.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
