Director of Shops Operations
This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the performance, growth, and operational excellence of both corporate-owned and franchised locations. This position requires a strategic, results-oriented leader with strong operational expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for scaling businesses and developing high-performing teams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of increasing sales, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring brand consistency across a multi-unit, multi-state network. This role will directly oversee 7-9 corporate stores and provide strategic support to 100 franchise locations. We are looking for a thinker, doer, and trainer, someone who can develop and implement systems, drive accountability, and cultivate a growth mindset within teams at all levels.

Responsibilities
Corporate Store Management (7 Locations)
- Lead all aspects of corporate store operations, including P&L management, staffing, customer experience, and sales performance.
- Implement scalable operational strategies to maximize profitability, efficiency, and team effectiveness.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess operational execution, brand compliance, and employee engagement.
- Recruit, train, and develop corporate store managers and staff, ensuring a high-performance culture.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement data-driven improvements.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasting, and financial planning for corporate stores.
- Serve as a strategic advisor and operational resource for franchise owners.
- Oversee the franchise account management/support team, ensuring franchisees receive best-in-class operational guidance and resources.
- Develop and execute training programs, best practices and support structures to enhance franchisee success.
- Conduct franchise business reviews to assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
- Monitor franchisee compliance with brand standards, operational procedures and franchise agreements.
- Strengthen communication and alignment between corporate and franchisees through structured check-ins and field support.
- Analyze performance trends, industry benchmarks, and customer insights to drive ongoing improvements.
- Develop and implement growth strategies for franchisees, ensuring long-term profitability and sustainability.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for franchise-related operational challenges.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that align with the company's broader growth and financial objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, finance, real estate and merchandising to ensure seamless execution across all locations.
- Lead change management initiatives to introduce process improvements and scale operations efficiently.
- Manage a team of direct reports, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience leading multi-unit operations in a franchise, retail, or service-based industry.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in P&L management, budgeting, and revenue growth strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to build trust and influence across diverse teams.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, POS systems, and operational analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to support corporate and franchise locations.
