Job Description
The Engineering CAD Technician will be part of our Marine team supporting Engineers to design and draft drawings on a wide variety of projects for both private and public clients. The Engineering CAD Technician must be able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team, have strong time management skills, and be able to prioritize and concurrently work on multiple projects while maintaining deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software (Autodesk Civil3D) to create full-scale and detailed designs
- Work with Engineers to accurately transpose engineering markups to deliverable Marine plans, taking into account drafting standards and design documentation requirements
- Complete design and drafting with accuracy and within Facet’s established drafting standards
Qualifications
- Certification or Degree demonstrating completion of AutoCAD or Civil3D coursework preferred
- Proven experience using AutoCAD
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
