The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and thorough estimates for commercial electrical projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, venders, and clients to ensure that all estimates are complete, detailed, and aligned with scope and budget requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Perform material and labor take-offs and solicit supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client consultations as neeed.
- Develop bid proposals, RFI's, and scope clarifications.
- Track and maintain data on pricing, labor productivity, and historical cost.
- Coordinate with project management and field teams during project turnover.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in electrical estimating (commercial)
- Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, materials, and installation practices
- Proficiency in estimating software (such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints and specifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required, degree or trade certification is a plus
