JOB SUMMARY:
Works with the Fence Line Custodians. Uses Tractor blowers and vacuums to remove all litter and debris i.e. wood, metals, rocks and paper. Blow scale decks and guard rails. Vacuum all litter around sort areas and scale decks. Remove all obvious litter and debris such as; wood, metals, rocks, paper, packaging popcorn, plastic bags and plastic drink bottles.

The Fence Line Driver uses various blowers and vacuums to aid the removal of trash and debris. He/she will use the Kabota Tractor, Goossen Blower and/or the Tenant 4300 vacuum sweeper as well as walk behind vacuums and the five-yard industrial vacuum. A Tug will be used to pull/operate the industrial vacuum.
- All truck docks are cleaned on Monday.
- Gathers equipment (i.e., vacuum blowers, etc.) and conducts a visual inspection of the equipment. Notifies supervisor of any maintenance problems or repairs.
- Blow all litter and debris away from sort areas and under scale decks. Pick up all debris by billy goat vacuums or industrial vacuums.
- Loose debris will be bagged to be sent to recycle area.
- Remove debris such as pallets, rollers, packaging material, load bars, doors, etc.
- Blow and vacuum all debris form under scale decks/pits inside Hub sort areas.
- Coordinated with Sort Managers/Mechanics. Use long poles with hooks or pick up by hand all trash, cans and debris from underneath slides, scale decks and truck docks.
- Follow all instructions to remove all debris from scale decks and sort areas as instructed.
- Uses the Tenant 4300 to vacuum sweep parking lots and ramp areas.
- May remove all debris from roof top surface areas, beneath sort systems and walk ways.
- May sweep and remove all trash behind guardrails, inside and out.
- Gathers equipment utilized, cleans the equipment and returns it to storage area at the end of shift.
- Cleans and organizes storage area on a daily basis.
- Participates in ISO practices and embraces ISO principles and philosophies in the performance of principal duties and responsibilities.
- Makes safety the first consideration above all other responsibilities. Follows all safety rules and uses sound judgment for the protection of him/herself, co-workers, client personnel, client invitees, general public and property. Participates in safety training and attends safety meetings as scheduled by Supervisor. Also, responsible to report to his/her supervisor any unsafe conditions or practices.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required. Previous related experience or training is preferred but not required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
