Facilities Resource Group in Comstock Park, MI, is looking for an experienced LEAD PLUMBER to oversee field crew installation of commercial TANKLESS WATER HEATING SYSTEMS for our nationwide clients in the hospitality, food and beverage and healthcare sectors.
JOB DETAILS:
- PAY: $70,000 - $80,000 / year ( Base Salary ) PER DIEM HOTEL

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As Lead Plumber on our national installation crew, you will oversee and help perform the installation, of TANKLESS WATER HEATING SYSTEMS in commercial facilities throughout the domestic United States. Nationwide Travel 50-75% of the time (mostly air travel - some ground).
Lead Plumber works with subcontractors, directs team members and oversees work flow and completion. Ensures the direction of workflow, plumbing procedures, and ultimately, client satisfaction, through safe, timely and accurate project completions.
As Plumbing Lead, you will fly to the location and review the project outline with sub team. Apply your knowledge of domestic water heating and commercial plumbing, as well as any applicable compliance or regulatory requirements, to ensure the team works safely and accurately, finishing the job on time and to the customer's satisfaction. You will train and direct your team, log work orders and materials, and educate/train clients on equipment function (as needed).
The systems are prebuilt. We do this inside our facilities with 1/2" - 2" commercial materials, so they leave fully pre-piped, pre-wired with distribution box and ready to vent. Your job will be to confirm specs, verify any potential complications (i.e., building recirculation systems, cross-connects or controls). You will then lead the team in removing the old water heating system and bringing the new in, and installing it.
Your leadership skills in the plumbing arena will be important to ensure the team's development and performance growth. When a new team member joins your team, you'll be responsible for showing and coaching them on how to do the job.
Must reside locally within reasonable commute distance to make it to the shop and GRR airport.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Submit updated resume;
- 5 yr commercial plumbing (restaurants, hotels, sports / events venues, etc);
- 2 years of experience in a crew leadership / coaching role;
- Read, interpret and apply blueprints, drawings, and specifications;
- Willing and able to travel nationally by air up to 50 - 75% of the time;
- Complete onboarding, background and drug screen;
- Reside w/in 75 miles of shop and be willing and able to travel;
- Positive attitude, patient, good teaching and communication skills;
- Technical savvy / good with computers and smartphones;
- MUST be willing and able to get in and work along side team to solve issues;
- IDEAL candidates will have valid Journeyman or Master Plumber license;
