As the Grants Manager, you play a key role in contributing to FACT’s success in providing transportation services to our community by securing grant funding for FACT’s operations and ensuring all compliance needs and requirements are being met to maintain that funding.
Role Description
This is a full-time Grants Manager role at FACT Inc. located in Oceanside, CA, with flexibility for some remote work. The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing grant proposals, coordinating the grant application process, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and tracking grant expenses and reporting.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of grant funding sources, grant writing, and compliance requirements
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration or Nonprofit Management
- Experience in grant management or fundraising within the nonprofit sector is a plus
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Grants
Identifies applicable funding grants to apply for and completes application processSubmits applications as needed according to funding cyclesCollects data and needed information from identified internal stakeholders to provide grant providersEnsures requirements for funding are being met and reworks scope of work as needed when grant requirements changeTroubleshoots and mediates between FACT service providers and grant providersManages monthly invoicing processConducts presentations for stakeholder groups in order to secure funding opportunities or update on services provided using fundingManages bids, proposals, and RFP’s from external stakeholdersDevelops processes and policies to ensure all requirements and expectations are being metReviews and modifies scope of work and contracts as neededConducts outreach to ensure needed responses to RFP’sDevelops protest procedures for proposals that do not meet requirementsAdministration and Compliance
Submits business plan for Board approval annuallyCollects data reporting, regional data, and transportation dataAssists in navigating escalated service issuesProvides general coaching and training to the team as appropriateActs as Title 6 and ADA Compliance Officer and ensures plan for services to meet requirements is established and maintained according to deadlinesManages any complaints related to disability or discriminationEnsures translation services are available and equal access is provided for all ridersProvides overall supervisory management of vehicle fleet including lease management, usage information, number of vehicles available, and retirement of vehiclesQualifications
A minimum of 5 years related experience in public service funding preferredBachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or related field preferredExperience with Microsoft Suite preferredCompetencies
Familiarity with US Department of Transportation (USDOT)and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grants is highly desirableExcellent project and time management skillsSavvy with data analysis and financial analysisAbility to provide clear written communication tailored to the correct audienceInterpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamClear verbal communication skills and the ability to present in front of a groupSelf-driven and motivated to meet and exceed goalsMediation and problem solving skillsWorking Conditions & Physical Demands

The budgeted starting salary that FACT reasonably expects to pay for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. This takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, external market comparisons for similar positions in similar geographic locations and size. Offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
