The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements (CBA). This role ensures timely and accurate payroll execution, tax reporting, and benefits coordination while providing guidance to leadership on payroll best practices.
This position has an annual compensation rate of $100,000.

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements (CBA). This role ensures timely and accurate payroll execution, tax reporting, and benefits coordination while providing guidance to leadership on payroll best practices.

Duties And Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including union and non-union team members.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
- Ensure payroll compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), IRS regulations, and New York State labor laws.
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports, including tax filings (941, W-2, and 1099 forms).
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Oversee benefit deductions, retirement contributions, and leave accruals.
- Act as the primary liaison between payroll, HR, and Finance to ensure seamless benefits administration.
- Maintain and update payroll software, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement payroll process improvements and automation solutions.
- Train Finance teams on payroll-related tools and processes.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Educate employees on payroll policies, direct deposits, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
- Handle confidential payroll data with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll management experience, preferably in the hospitality or luxury service industry.
- Experience processing union payroll and familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) preferred.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, UKG, or similar) and accounting systems.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive payroll data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift or prolonged standing for a period
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly moving objects, may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
