Position Summary:
Position is an evening schedule-candidate will need to be available for the 12pm-8pm shifts including weekends.
Under the direction of the Director, the Scheduler performs specific duties such as completing schedules and placing staff on nursing units based on the shift needs to ensure adequate staffing during a 24-hour period.
Responsibilities:
- Assures adequate staffing in compliance with facility guidelines.
- Takes callouts from answering machine at the beginning of each shift, also receives calls directly from employees not reporting for work, logs details in all appropriate locations, including shift specific call- out books and daily shift assignments.
- Logs in to the electronic scheduling system (Kronos) at the beginning of each shift to monitor attendance.
- Calls nursing units at the beginning of each shift to verify staff numbers of both professional nurses and nursing assistants.
- Makes changes in unit staff based on each unit’s census and recommendations from the Scheduling Director, Nursing Administration, Unit Manager or Nurse Supervisor.
- Assigns staff to accompany residents for Medical Appointments and TAS outings as needed.
- Uses prescribed guidelines to prepare work schedules for Nursing personnel (RN, LPN, CNA, Utility Aides, Restorative Aides, Unit Secretaries and Smoking Monitors) ensuring adequate coverage of all appropriate areas (buildings/units' floors)
- Works closely to Payroll Department daily to ensure all staff time recorded and transcribed to payroll accurately.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of scheduling procedures preferred.
