Fair Oaks Lodge, part of the Eden Senior Care Network, a skilled nursing facility is seeking for a Dietary Aide for our wonderful assisted living facility!
Position: Dietary Aide (Part time)
We are looking for a positive and reliable Dietary Aide who understands how important his/her work is to providing quality care for residents.
Responsibilities
- Essential Functions:
- Food Presentation: Ensure that all meals are served in an attractive and appetizing manner, taking into consideration the dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.
- Ability to be patient and polite.
- Ability to be accurate, concise, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English through verbal and written means.
Job Type: Part time
- Timely Meal Delivery: Follow established schedules to deliver meals and snacks to designated areas promptly, ensuring that residents receive their meals on time.
- Food Preparation: Prepare and pre-portion food as directed, ensuring the correct quantity is available for each meal according to the planned menu and resident diet orders.
- Food Temperature Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service, adhering to established guidelines for safe food handling. Record food temperatures as per the set procedures.
- Accurate Meal Service: Serve resident meals and snacks accurately, following the planned menu, specific diet orders, and individual food preferences.
- Portion Control: Utilize appropriate portion control utensils during food preparation, pre-portioning, and service to ensure consistent and appropriate serving sizes.
- Dishwashing and Sanitization: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established procedures for both manual and automatic dishwashing. Record water temperatures and sanitizer levels as required. Report any issues with water temperature or sanitizer to the supervisor promptly.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring dishes, utensils, and equipment are stored properly to prevent contamination and promote a hygienic environment.
- Flexibility and Assistance: Be willing to assist in various tasks and areas within the dietary department as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining services.
