Job Description
Fairbank Construction is looking for team players. The Shop and Fleet Manager oversees shop organization and inventory, tool repair/replacement and fleet vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Manage the repair, issuing, receiving, and procurement of shop tools. Inspect tools as they are returned from issue and determine if repairs are necessary. Initiate repair processes to include ordering parts and performing repairs. Purchase new tools to replace decommissioned tools or in anticipation of upcoming needs. Track tool usage in the field and generate rental tool invoicing at the end of each month.
- Manage the repair and service scheduling of fleet vehicles. Coordinate with recipients of fleet vehicles for repairs and/or service. Approve/deny repair quotes. Source and procure new fleet assets.
- Manage the sourcing, procuring, and issuing of fleet consumables. Find economical sources for commonly consumed sundries. Procure, receive, and issue sundries. Track invoiceable sundries and attach to rental tool invoicing at the end of each month.
- Manage the sourcing, procuring, and issuing of safety equipment and PPE. Keep safety boxes stocked. Update fire extinguishers. Stock safety sundries.
- Organize shop and handle incoming leftover job materials.
- Assist team members with other tasks as needed and availability allows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a strong knowledge of tools and repair practices.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Detail-oriented and well organized.
- Computer proficiency or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication.
- Self-starter leads by example.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma
- College Education preferred or 5 years of similar experience
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at times.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time or full-time non-exempt position, Monday-Friday. Fairbank Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
- The salary range for this position is $24-28 per hour
- 6 Paid Holidays per Year (plus Veteran’s Day if you are a military veteran)
- PTO 2 weeks of paid time off per year for sick, vacation and personal time, up to 4 weeks with years of service
