Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support residents with challenging behaviors.
- Engage residents in social activities and programs that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care plans, progress notes, and incident reports within established systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each resident.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the overall well-being of residents.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or long-term care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of home community care practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital sign monitoring is advantageous.
- Background in social work or related fields can be beneficial for understanding resident needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
