- Summer 2025 Braddock District Internship Opportunity!
Supervisor Walkinshaw is accepting applications for a paid summer internship. College students residing in the Braddock District are encouraged to apply.
The intern will assist with a myriad of public service activities, which may include:- Coordinating events and meetings.
- Assisting constituents.
- Researching projects for Braddock District Supervisor James Walkinshaw and staff.
- Updating lists, such as homeowner association (HOA) contacts.
- Assisting with communications, including writing, graphic design, and social media
- The intern should have enthusiasm for public service at the local government level and be able to work independently.
Preferred skills include:- Familiarity with Braddock District and Fairfax County government
- Effective writing and verbal communications
- Researching and reporting results
- Technical skills such as: Excel, Microsoft Word, Canva, and databases
- Foreign language ability
Start and end dates are negotiable but will generally track with the student's summer break or summer semester calendar.
