ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide accurate recording and reporting of the financial operations of the organization to assure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principals and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attendance (Working hours as scheduled)
- Compile and assist in the analyzation of and distribution of financial statements to assist in maintaining an accurate record of all accounts in the combined company ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for all departments.
- Assist in the training and guidance for accounting employees as well as employees from other departments who provide information to accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting as assigned (i.e. preparing for the annual audit).
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal procedures and systems as they relate to the accounting functions within the organization.
- Maintain a record of all capital expenditures and report as needed.
- Create, modify and support Excel spreadsheets used for company operations, including the creation, modification and support of Excel VBA macro code.
- Become an expert in the Northstar General Ledger software and subsystems. Develop the ability to troubleshoot problems and assist/train others in the proper use of Northstar.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Additional duties as assigned.
- When requested by the Finance Manager, provide oversight and coordination of duties and responsibilities in Accounting Department.
- Employee expected to continue with training to expand on current knowledge, skills and/or certifications.

JOB SPECIFICATION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Accounting degree required. CPA preferred.
Experience: Some experience preferred, but willing to train individual
Working Conditions: Typical office conditions.
Mental Requirements: General, verbal and numerical intelligence and strong listening skills.
Physical Demands: Light lifting, leaning, reaching and stretching.
