What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board of Elections Administrative Assistant (INTERNAL ONLY) position at Fairfield County Ohio?
Fairfield County Board of Elections (“Board”) is seeking an internal candidate for a full-time (40 hours per week with extended hours during election time) Administrative Assistant that is a registered republican voter. The mission of Fairfield County and the Board is to ensure high quality services at an exceptional value to taxpayers. Successful candidates will further the mission of Fairfield County and the Board and provide exemplary service to the public. The successful candidate must adhere to Board, county and Ohio Secretary of State Policies and procedures. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with strong problem-solving, organizational skills an eye for detail.
- Maintaining, preparing and filing records for all personnel to include payroll, attendance, insurance and any other files required
- Prepare and process all requisitions, purchase orders and invoices for payment of all accounts payable
- Responsible for duplicate resolution by Directive issued by the Secretary of State with 87 other counties
- Republican ½ of record retention team, keeping records for retention and destruction dates
- Assist with budget preparation and maintain budget records as required and subject to audit
- Assist voters at the counter, on the phone, receiving and issuing voter registrations, petitions, campaign finance forms, absentee and provisional voting forms and receipts
- Schedule and monitor seasonal clerks to assist with processing of all absentee applications and ballots
- Maintain all absentee records, comply with retention schedules, requests, related correspondence and monitor inventory of absentee supplies
- Maintain and Audit Campaign Finance records for all candidates, political action committees and political parties under the Board’s jurisdiction
- Other duties as assigned
- The successful candidate must pass a background check prior to employment and be a registered Republican voter
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates or bachelor’s degree is preferable
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
