The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The “AGM” supervises front desk supervisors and/or front desk agents. The AGM strives to exceed guest service and satisfaction, while maintaining minimum costs and complies with and enforces all Company policies and procedures.
Major Duties:
Assist General Manager in day-to-day operation of the hotel.
· Assist in the interviewing, hiring and discipline of all associates.
· Serves as primary contact for front and audit staff communications with the General Manager.
· Prepare front desk work schedules to ensure excellent service at all times.
· Train, cross-train, retrain, and evaluate all Front Desk associates and implement new training procedures with the knowledge and consent of the General Manager, and in accordance with policies and procedures.
· Ensure night audit balances daily and make any necessary adjustments or corrections on daily reports.
· Support financial management by monitoring expenses, preparing reports, and assisting in budget planning.
· Adhere to franchise standards and outlined policies and procedures.
· Prepare daily deposits, and remit to the corporate office daily.
· Prepare petty cash reimbursement requests.
· Responsible for coding and processing accounts payable invoices, statements and packing slips for General Manager’s approval; Remit the same to Corporate Office.
· May handle daily city ledger postings and billing.
· Maintain inventory of hotel supplies, including office supplies, cleaning/housekeeping supplies, gift shop supplies, linen, franchise/logo items, etc.
· Participate in AGM training program and complete all franchise brand training requirements.
· Conduct property tours and inspect guestrooms daily.
· Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to walk or stand during work hours. The AGM could be on their feet for 2-3 hours at a time without breaking.
· Capable of bending, stooping, reaching occasionally.
· Heavy computer and telephone use, including typing and reading computer screens regularly
