Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure is seeking a dedicated Superintendent of Golf to join our team. The focus of this position will include the maintenance and management of the golf course, assisting the Director of Golf Maintenance in daily operations, and ensuring optimal playing conditions.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintains and inspects golf course grounds, landscaping, and maintenance equipment. Monitors and reviews the conditions of all turf grass areas daily. Identify problems and recommend solutions to the Director of Golf Maintenance.
- Manages development and implementation of a fertilizer, aeration and Integrated Pest Management program for proper turf grass care. Oversees the application of all chemicals and fertilizers to ensure the proper rates are accurately applied following all necessary safety requirements.
- Develops the annual chemical and fertilizer budget and turf grass management plan. Implements the plan according to Company operating policies and procedures to ensure cost containment.
- Conducts research as necessary including soil and water sampling, reviewing all analyses of chemicals and fertilizers to determine their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Keeps accurate and complete records of all chemicals and fertilizer applications, soil and water samples and all maintenance practices affecting the quality of turf grass.
- Manages employment activities for applicable staff members, including but not limited to, personnel recruitment and selection, performance evaluations and training. Perform supervisory duties to support the Golf Maintenance Team including coordination of daily scheduling for Associates and training Associates in golf course operations.
- Maintains knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to industry periodicals and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, OSHA rules and regulations, relating to chemical and fertilizer storage and disposal, employee safety, public safety, etc.
- Conducts and maintains inventory control practices.
- Operate all equipment associated with golf maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements :
Working Conditions
Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement daily. Injury may result because of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
