Overview
The Workout Credit Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving troubled loans and credits within the bank’s portfolio. This role involves working directly with clients facing financial difficulties, developing restructuring and workout plans, and mitigating the bank’s risk exposure. The Workout Credit Specialist will collaborate with loan officers, credit analysts, legal counsel, and external agencies to recover or improve loan performance while supporting the client’s ability to meet financial obligations where feasible.
Skills
Decision making and analytical skills are required to successfully perform the approval, servicing, and maintenance responsibilities of this position. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills must be exhibited. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess financial statements, loan structures, and collateral positions. Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel required. Use of such standard office equipment as computer, keyboard, adding machine, photocopier, scanner. Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required for correspondence.
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience is required. Minimum of three years of experience in credit, lending, or other related field. Certified Credit Professional (CCP) or similar designation preferred. Experience in commercial or agricultural lending workout situations is also preferred.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch; lift and/or move office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
