What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Shop Technician position at Fairlead, LLC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of boats and an operational knowledge of propulsion and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair vessels per the specifications within the work package
- Perform various maintenance duties involved with the repair of small boats
- Ability to read drawings and effectively work to NAVSEA standards
- Continuously learn and apply lessons learned to other projects
- Research parts to comply with commercial and government equipment specifications
- Familiarity with multiple different driveline configurations and components (inboard / outboard, sterndrives, jet drives, full outboard)
- Knowledge of multiple different 12v and 24v electrical systems (engine monitoring systems, navigation, radar, communication systems, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work multiple ongoing projects on and off-site
- Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality work throughout projects
