We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL and CICS Technical Specialist for a 4-month hybrid contract opportunity based in Raleigh, NC. This role is pivotal in the analysis and enhancement of complex legacy program modules, as well as the coding and testing of crucial modifications to our legacy applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and modifications of intricate legacy program modules.
- Code and rigorously test both new and existing modules for major upgrades.
- Engage effectively with diverse teams of business, management, and IT stakeholders.
- Document all phases of implementation and testing processes.
- Develop solutions for intricate system challenges.
- Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, TSO, MVS JCL, ENDEVOR, CA Tools, SQL, DB2, and VSAM.
- Strong command of programming techniques within a mainframe setting.
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), along with presentation capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and scheduling competencies.
- Ability to tackle complex problems and deliver insightful solutions.
- Experience in the analysis and modification of financial processes.
- Self-motivated individual capable of thriving in a diverse team environment.
- Proven track record in the analysis and design of legacy applications.
- Demonstrated success working on large project teams.
- Extensive knowledge of fundamental programming principles and methodologies.
- Experience with state or county government (preferred).
- Familiarity with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology (preferred).
- Exposure to enterprise-level application development across multiple business areas (preferred).
