Contract IT Architect - State of NC

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented IT/Enterprise Architect to join our team on a contract basis in Raleigh, North Carolina. This hybrid role requires onsite attendance two days per week, and candidates must currently reside in the Raleigh area. As a vital member of our organization, you will leverage your expertise to align state agency needs with cutting-edge technology solutions, ultimately shaping the overall IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analysis and design reviews to ensure business challenges are effectively understood and addressed.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and refine architectural models and diagrams representing agency applications across multiple disciplines.
• Systematically assess proposed solutions to ensure alignment with state and agency goals.
• Review enterprise IT projects to guarantee alignment with overarching IT strategies.
• Evaluate statewide IT procurements, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and technological solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and enhance the enterprise architecture strategy in alignment with North Carolina’s objectives.
• Identify areas of improvement within current technology infrastructure and applications.
• Establish and uphold statewide enterprise architecture principles and best practices, ensuring optimization and security.
• Assess risks related to enterprise architecture initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate them.
• Guide and support enterprise-wide IT projects governed by established architectural frameworks.
• Evaluate third-party vendors and solutions critical to state projects and procurements.
• Implement architectural standards while keeping abreast of emerging technology trends.
