Onsite Inventory Specialist - 11 Month Contract in Raleigh, NC -745872

Job Overview

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist for an 11-month on-site contract role based in Raleigh, NC. This position is essential for the effective management of inventory systems related to physical security, requiring candidates to currently reside in Raleigh for an in-person interview.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management, processing, and accounting of all equipment, devices, materials, and parts associated with building and facility implementations.
• Collaborate with Distribution Center staff to communicate about pending orders and inventory needs.
• Conduct semi-annual inventory assessments to ensure thorough documentation and accountability of devices and materials, submitting reports to Security Management.
• Generate and submit scheduled reports indicating material received, picked up, returned, and current inventory levels.
• Manage safety stock requirements, invoicing materials upon arrival, and coordinating scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Identify devices nearing the end of their lifecycle and arrange for their timely replacement.
• Oversee the management of badging supplies, quotes, and invoices associated with inventory.
• Ensure compliance with NC State Surplus procedures regarding surplus processes and properly discard retired servers according to Information Security Office protocols.
• Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) concerning basic system configurations and assist in troubleshooting as needed.
• Conduct monthly testing of devices in selected buildings and document findings adequately.
• Manage device removals due to building alterations, replacements, or other circumstances, keeping IT-EMS informed.

• Proficient in Genetec software and inventory management systems.
• Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in inventory management and physical security operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; certifications related to security and inventory management are preferred.
• Experience with inventory systems and security management, particularly involving Genetec software, is highly desirable.
