We are seeking a dedicated WAN Technical Specialist to join our team on a six-month onsite contract in Raleigh, NC. This role is integral to providing Tier 2 support for wide area network systems as our organization embarks on a comprehensive LAN refresh project.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Tier 2 support for wide area network configurations, which include Metro Ethernet, L3 routing, MPLS, QoS, and L2 switching.
- Implement new service component releases into the operational environment, adhering to controlled processes of change, configuration, and release management.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all IT assets and configurations within the service.
- Coordinate deployment and implementation initiatives of wide area networks for state agencies and institutions requiring connectivity to the North Carolina Information Network.
- Develop and manage provisioning, configuration, and deployment plans, ensuring effective collaboration with relevant agencies during the implementation.
- Ensure the availability and proper configuration of equipment, overseeing the entire project for successful outcomes.
- Consult with service delivery personnel to fulfill service requests, including the provisioning of data locations.
- Proficient knowledge in the configuration of VLANs.
- Experience with various Cisco routers and switches.
- Familiarity with WLAN technology.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in providing Tier 2 support for wide area network systems.
- Solid understanding of networking technologies and configurations.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities, essential for successful project management.
