Job Overview

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a seasoned Senior Program Director for a pivotal 9-month contract role within a transformative IT modernization initiative. This hybrid position located in Raleigh, NC, requires a comprehensive understanding of public health to effectively lead and manage a range of stakeholders in the execution of critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with program and project sponsors to strategically identify and prioritize initiatives at the division level.
• Design and enact a robust governance framework for the Division of Public Health’s data modernization program.
• Collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to develop and refine a comprehensive modernization roadmap.
• Identify data requirements and support the crafting of necessary dashboards and visualizations.
• Manage vendor engagements and coordinate resource allocations across various projects.
• Monitor and present program progress, risks, and relevant updates to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to State IT Roadmap and compliance with security protocols.

• Proven capability to develop and communicate a strategic vision for data management.
• Extensive experience in program management, particularly with intricate technology programs.
• Familiarity with modern data architecture, including data lakes and warehouses.
