We are currently seeking a dedicated Network/Telecom Specialist to join our Network Field Services team. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Network Field Services team to install CAT5/6 network cabling (approximately 80% of the role)
- Engage in the installation of fiber optic cabling, IP camera systems, and network switches (approximately 20% of the role)
- Conduct termination and testing of CAT5/6 and fiber optic cabling to ensure optimal performance
- Travel statewide to facilitate installations in NCDOT and NCDMV buildings, which may include early departures and occasional overnight stays
- Adapt to various working environments, including attics and crawl spaces, while maintaining a commitment to quality and service excellence
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in CAT5/6 network cable installation, termination, and testing
- At least 3 years of experience in fiber optic cable installation, termination, splicing, and testing
- Familiarity with IP camera systems and Cisco switches is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven expertise in network cabling installation
- Technical proficiency in fiber optics and related testing methodologies
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in networking or related fields is preferred
