Permanent Position: 2025-26

LOCATION: Fairview Elementary School
POSITION TITLE: Elementary Teacher
REPORTS TO: Fairview Elementary School Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Pennsylvania Certification – Elementary Education Certification
- Knowledge and confidence of iPad implementation in a shared environment
- Possess working knowledge of all aspects of the Framework for Teaching
- Working knowledge of reading and writing workshop models
- Working knowledge of best practices in reading and math assessments and instruction.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employ Differentiated Instructional techniques in all subjects to address the ability levels of all students.
- Implement effective iPad instruction in a one-to-one environment.
- Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and techniques that motivate students to perform at their optimum ability.
- Be knowledgeable of subject matter and current instructional strategies and approaches for subject/grade area.
- Demonstrate use of appropriate technologies as related to specific subject/grade areas.
- Provide thorough and punctual reports, data, forms, etc., as requested by administration.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as delineated in the district’s Board manual, staff handbook, and administrative requests.
- Employ appropriate use of classroom management techniques.
- Utilize a proactive social curriculum to assist students in growing socially, as well as, how to positively interact with others.
- Administer effective and developmentally appropriate assessments that promote high levels of academic engagement.
- 1 Effectively use data to inform instruction.
- Conduct guided reading groups within a workshop model and literacy centers on a daily basis.
- Facilitate a writer’s workshop framework.
- Utilize strategies and activities that encourage the development of critical and analytical thought processes by students.
- Teach subject matter as outlined by the Board-approved curriculum.
- Cooperate with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment.
- Be a professional role model for students and staff.
- Participate in professional organizations and professional growth activities, such as appropriate seminars, courses, and workshops.
- Work to actively incorporate special education students within the regular education classroom to the greatest extent possible.
- Communicate with parents on a consistent basis (at least weekly) through multiple modes to increase the home-school connection.
- Create and manage a meaningful, positive behavior system which promotes success for all children.
- Monitor times outside of classroom duties (i.e. lunch duty, hallway duty, and recess duty).
- Effectively utilize technologies to create meaningful and motivational lessons.
- Work to promote a positive and collegial atmosphere with fellow teachers and staff
- Be able to work with other staff members (special education, literacy aides, and Title 1 teacher) to support children with unique needs.
