Anticipated Vacancy

Permanent Position: 2025-26

 

LOCATION: Fairview Elementary School

 

POSITION TITLE: Elementary Teacher

 

REPORTS TO:  Fairview Elementary School Building Principal

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  2. Pennsylvania Certification – Elementary Education Certification
  3. Knowledge and confidence of iPad implementation in a shared environment
  4. Possess working knowledge of all aspects of the Framework for Teaching
  5. Working knowledge of reading and writing workshop models
  6. Working knowledge of best practices in reading and math assessments and instruction.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Employ Differentiated Instructional techniques in all subjects to address the ability levels of all students.
  2. Implement effective iPad instruction in a one-to-one environment.
  3. Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and techniques that motivate students to perform at their optimum ability.
  4. Be knowledgeable of subject matter and current instructional strategies and approaches for subject/grade area.
  5. Demonstrate use of appropriate technologies as related to specific subject/grade areas.
  6. Provide thorough and punctual reports, data, forms, etc., as requested by administration.
  7. Adhere to all policies and procedures as delineated in the district’s Board manual, staff handbook, and administrative requests.
  8. Employ appropriate use of classroom management techniques.
  9. Utilize a proactive social curriculum to assist students in growing socially, as well as, how to positively interact with others.
  10. Administer effective and developmentally appropriate assessments that promote high levels of academic engagement.
  11. 1 Effectively use data to inform instruction.
  12. Conduct guided reading groups within a workshop model and literacy centers on a daily basis.
  13. Facilitate a writer’s workshop framework.
  14. Utilize strategies and activities that encourage the development of critical and analytical thought processes by students.
  15. Teach subject matter as outlined by the Board-approved curriculum.
  16. Cooperate with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment.
  17. Be a professional role model for students and staff.
  18. Participate in professional organizations and professional growth activities, such as appropriate seminars, courses, and workshops.
  1. Work to actively incorporate special education students within the regular education classroom to the greatest extent possible.
  2. Communicate with parents on a consistent basis (at least weekly) through multiple modes to increase the home-school connection.
  3. Create and manage a meaningful, positive behavior system which promotes success for all children.
  1. Monitor times outside of classroom duties (i.e. lunch duty, hallway duty, and recess duty).
  2. Effectively utilize technologies to create meaningful and motivational lessons.
  3. Work to promote a positive and collegial atmosphere with fellow teachers and staff
  4. Be able to work with other staff members (special education, literacy aides, and Title 1 teacher) to support children with unique needs.

 

EVALUATION: Annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation and F.E.A. contract
