What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Intervention Advocate (Part-time Weekend) position at Faith House?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Answer the crisis line; provide telephone counseling and safety planning. Screen callers to determine which are appropriate for residential services.
2. Route non-crisis calls to appropriate staff or voice mail.
3. Make appropriate referrals to homeless callers, and advocate with other domestic violence programs when facility is at capacity.
4. Assist survivors when coming into shelter to stay. Complete all paperwork and make appropriate documentation. Provide intake counseling and safety planning.
5. Keep written records of services provided and statistical information; complete reports and all paperwork.
6. Keep track of supplies on hand and leave message for shelter manager in advance of upcoming needs.
7. Clean front office (7-3), staff bathroom (3-11), and conference room (11-7)
9. Monitor the alarm system, gates and security cameras.'
