Position Description
Join a diverse, fun team passionate about creating healthier and more just communities as Faith in Places Associate Development Director. The Associate Development Director will join the Development Team as the third member of a collaborative team that secures the financial resources to fund Faith in Place and support the Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin communities we serve, especially those disproportionately impacted by environmental degradation and the climate crisis.
The position of Associate Development Director, which reports to Faith in Places Development Director, will have significant fundraising responsibilities as part of the Development Teams collaborative work to meet foundation, government, individual donor, corporate, and house of worship annual budgetary revenue goals. If you have 6-8 years of experience in individual donor solicitation, corporate sponsorships, and / or grantwriting, along with a deep passion for environmental and climate justice, then we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate new funders
- Steward existing funders
- Write grant proposals and reports to foundation, government, and corporate funders
- Individual donor and corporate sponsorship solicitation
- Supervise up to 1 development staff person

This is a full-time Exempt position.Most work is done during a standard workday, with rare evening or weekend activities. For any time worked outside regular work hours, comp time will be provided.
About the Organizations Mission
Faith in Place is a multifaith, environmental nonprofit (501c3) organization with outreach staff working throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Faith in Places mission is to empower people of diverse faith and spiritualities to be leaders in advancing environmental and racial justice, providing resources to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities. Faith in Place partners with communities of faith from diverse religious traditions as well as people who identify as spiritual or motivated by justice but don't identify with a specific faith tradition.
Faith in Place organizes faith leaders, groups, and members to advance our mission by starting and coaching Green Teams. Green Teams are three or more members of a house of worship who provide cooperative leadership to educate, connect, and advocate for environmental and racial justice within the context of their communitys unique culture, history, and theological practices.
All Faith in Place staff also contribute part of their working hours to the Faith in Place Action Fund, a separate 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. Faith in Place Action Fund raises memberships and motivates lobbying for environmental justice. Faith in Place Action Fund uses several tools to hold candidates and elected officials accountable to create more environmental justice jobs throughout the Midwest. These tools include grassroots lobbying, legislator scorecards, questionnaires, interviews, and candidate endorsements.

Benefits
A comprehensive benefits package is offered to full-time employees of Faith in Place. These benefits, with some employee contributions, include medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term and long-term disability insurance, and employer-matched SIMPLE IRA plan, which begins thefirst of the month following employment. In addition, an annual stipend to support professional development is provided. Employees can accrue up to twenty (20) paid vacation days a year (13.33 hours per month) and accrued vacation will be available for use after three (3) months of employment. Two (2) paid personal days and five (5) paid sick days will be available immediately upon hire. Faith in Place provides employees a 1-month paid sabbatical after 5 years of employment with the organization. $20 / month (non-taxable) toward cell phone use and $40 / month (non-taxable) for internet use is provided. A $500 non-taxable amount will be provided one time towards home office needs. Professional development discretionary funds of $350-500 per year will also be provided. Faith in Place will provide a laptop for your work.
