J O B S U M M A R Y
The Accounting Intern will support the finance team by assisting with routine accounting tasks. This role provides
hands-on experience with revenue recording, data entry, and basic financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate
will gain exposure to non-profit accounting processes and develop practical skills in a mission-driven organization.
K E Y T A S K S A N D R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
Daily Revenue Recording: Assist in recording revenue transactions from donations, volunteer team fees,
grants, annual events, and in-kind contributions.
Data Entry & Reconciliation: Input financial data into our accounting software and help reconcile revenue
entries regularly.
Accounts Receivable Support: Help maintain records for accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding
volunteer fees, event pledges, and grant income; follow up on outstanding balances.
Accounts Payable and Expense Management: Support the processing of corporate credit card transactions,
ensuring accuracy, timely entry, and monthly reconciliations. Help maintain Accounts Payable and expense
report records, including the collection of documentation and approvals. Ensuring accuracy in bills and entry
of payables into our accounting software.
Treasury Assistance: Help update cash receipts and payments in the accounting system to support effective
cash management.
Reporting: Assist in preparing preliminary monthly financial reports and fundamental analyses to support
the close process.
General Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing, data
organization, and other related tasks as needed.
E D U C A T I O N A N D E X P E R I E N C E
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or a related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Spanish is a plus.
