Position Summary: | The Training Coordinator is responsible for delivering comprehensive training to EMTs to meet the requirements set by state and local EMS regulatory agencies. This role is integral in driving innovative training solutions and fostering operational excellence. |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate effectively with Station Managers to assess and address training needs.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the Management Team on all training aspects, including identifying course requirements, addressing deficiencies, and driving operational improvements.
Develop and facilitate onboarding Academies, ensuring proper documentation is tracked and maintained throughout the process.
Manage inventory of uniforms for all new hires.
Support new hires through all LEMSA required trainings.
Create and conduct CEVO (driver training) programs, with meticulous tracking and maintenance of required documentation.
Partner with Operations to identify training gaps and develop additional courses as part of the Continuing Education (CE) program.
Maintain training room supplies and equipment to ensure readiness and functionality.
Oversee the Field Training Officer (FTO) program, including annual updates and continuous improvement efforts.
Serve as an AHA BLS instructor, facilitating BLS CPR courses for employees.
Teach and manage NREMT Skills Verification courses to meet certification requirements.
Plan, develop, and implement an annual training curriculum.
Support new hires through the SCC badge process, ensuring a smooth transition.
Assist in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) programs by reviewing ePCRs and providing actionable feedback.
Partner with operations and HR to identify and develop safety training programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce hazards, and enhance workplace safety.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support organizational goals.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Proven training and education experience within Ground Critical Care or Flight Critical Care Transport, supported by current credentials and certifications.
Maintain all required certifications and licensures necessary to perform job duties and qualify for work in applicable counties.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and EMSA regulations.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of current services, service areas, and contracted facilities.
Exhibit scheduling flexibility with the ability to rotate shift assignments as required by operational needs.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of local, regional, and state EMS policies and regulations.
Ensure strict compliance with internal and client policies and procedures governing daily operations.
Proficiency in using Google Suite applications is preferred.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Prior EMS/EMT experience required.
Experience as a primary instructor within an NREMT program preferred.
One year experience as a skills assist within an NREMT approved program preferred.
One year experience teaching BLS CPR preferred.
AHA instructor certification.
Maintenance of certifications required by EMS regulatory agencies.
State of California EMT License

AHA (American Heart Association) CPR for the Healthcare Professional Card
Valid California Driver’s License (CDL)
Ambulance Driver Certificate (ADL)
Clean (H6) DMV Driving Record, no more than three points
No felony convictions, preventing participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass the Physical Agility Test successfully.
Perform the physical requirements of the position including: good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
Able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
