Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service, system design, and installation of fire alarm systems. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment to ensure the safety and security of our clients' properties. As an Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting alarm systems while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct system design assessments to determine the best solutions for clients' needs.
- Perform construction inspections to ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Utilize CAD software for system design layouts and documentation.
- Operate hand tools and voltmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues within alarm systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians and contractors on installation projects to ensure timely completion.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their alarm systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inspection documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience in field service related to alarm systems or similar technical roles.
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must be able to work with others.
- Working knowledge of meters and hand tools.
- A Fire Alarm Certification and/or Alabama Journeyman's License.
- Must have a valid Alabama driver's license
- Must be able to pass a preemployment
- 4 years of experience in installation and /or maintenance of fire alarm detection systems, hold a NICET certification or equivalent and or an electrical journeyman license.
