What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist position at Fall Creek Family Dentistry?
We are looking for a Receptionist to join our dental office team! As a front desk receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients & visitors. You will welcome patients, check them in & out for appointments, answer and make phone calls, handle money accurately to collect co-pays and balance to a daily deposit sheet, verify patients' insurance benefits, file documents and charts, and perform a variety of other clerical tasks as needed. To be successful in this position, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- Make reminder phone calls for upcoming or overdue appointments
- Handle money accurately and balance to a deposit sheet daily
- Verify insurance benefits for patients
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role preferred but not required - candidates with customer service backgrounds of any type are also encouraged to apply
- Proficiency in Windows & Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- High school degree required; additional degrees or certifications are a plus'
