What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acupuncturist - Bilingual Preferred (Spanish) position at Families Together of Orange County?
Role Objectives
- 25 hours per week treating FTOC Acupuncture patients
- Manage intake and treatment for 3-4 patients per hour
- Educate patients on their condition, course of treatment, and complimentary advice for their time away from the clinic
- Represent FTOC in educational and community outreach opportunities.
- Collaborate with FTOC and Management team to develop, implement, and maintain clinic policies and procedures to support the growth of the practice.
Daily Responsibilities
- As a practitioner, the Licensed Acupuncturist is responsible for building a consistent clientele. This is done by quickly and effectively diagnosing and administering treatment plans, self-managing and problem solving while on shift, keeping thorough treatment notes, and delivering outstanding customer service to all who walk through our doors.
- Manage clinic clientele with compassion, while demonstrating strength and presence of mind to reasonably address client issues or concerns.
- Uphold clinical policies- thorough and complete treatment notes for every treatment, clean equipment and work areas, treatment plans, timeliness, reliability, professionalism, etc.
- Identify and coordinate referral partner opportunities, community events, and educational outreach on behalf of FTOC.
- Treat patients with needles, cups, ear balls, seeds, pellets, and supplements.
- Prepare herbal treatments to treat patients.
- Assess patients to make diagnoses.
- Incorporate adjunct modalities such as e-stim, gua sha, cupping (stationary & sliding), moxibustion into treatments.
- Collate medical histories.
- Develop treatment plans.
- Analyze physical findings and medical records to make a diagnosis in conjunction with other medical professionals at FTOC.
- Log and Document accurately and consistently in FTOC’s electronic health record system (Axeium).
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Abide by laws and regulations by all governing bodies in the state of California or in relation to the practice of Acupuncture.
- Attend all assigned/designated FTOC meetings
Skills and Qualifications
- Board Licensed
- Knowledge of traditional herbal formulas and supplements
- Competent clinician with the ability to work within a team of practitioners in the best interest of client care
- Ability to manage treatment of 3-4 patients per hour
- Demonstrate a professional and calm demeanor in all situations
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to uphold an engaged and healthy work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years clinical experience
- Experience seeing high volume of patients per hour (3-4)
- Proven experience as a competent acupuncturist in a non-managerial role
- Herbalist certification
Commitment & Expectations
- 25-32 hours per week treating Acupuncture patients (3-5 days/week)
- Complete thorough treatment notes for every patient
- Reliability to clinic schedule
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
