What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Facilitator position at Family and Community Resources, Inc.?

Community based domestic non-profit organization is seeking three candidates who are passionate, creative, motivated, flexible people to serve as Group Facilitators within our DPH Certified Intimate Partner Abuse Education Program. The Intimate Partner Abuse Education Program works collaboratively with Probation Departments, Department of Public Health, Department of Children and Families, FCR staff, Families, and the community at large in holding adult men accountable for abusive and controlling behaviors to provide education to effect change. Candidates Bi-lingual in Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, or Spanish are highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Co-facilitate weekly group(s) for men who use physical, emotional, and economic abuse toward relationship partners according to the policies and procedures of FCR and the DPH State Guidelines
- Provide verbal/written weekly reports to the Director of IPAEP Program
- Attend and participate in weekly supervision
- Submit all relevant documentation as requested by the Department of Public Health
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Family and Community Resources, Inc.
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Must have cultural awareness, experience in working with diverse populations and a passion for working to bring about social justice and change
- Certification of completion of DPH State Certified IPAEP or successfully complete requirements within 3 months of hire
- Associate’s degree in an academically related field and 3 years of experience working with survivors and the community or a minimum of 5 years working with survivors of domestic violence and the community
- Must have excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent organization skills
- General knowledge and experience in the field of domestic violence, the criminal justice system, child protection agencies and other community-based services
- Valid MA driver’s license and clean driving record.
Hours
This position is part-time, evenings for 4 hours (2, 2-hour groups) per week
Salary Range: $100 per group
Benefits: One hour of sick time for every thirty hours worked. Excellent supervision, ongoing training and supportive work environment provided.
