We are currently looking to add a new member to our dynamic Finance team for the position of an Accounting III. The Accounting III will work closely with the CFO on a variety of accounting functions, which include overseeing the payroll and benefits administration for the agency and supporting the CFO in day to day accounting activities, including audit preparation, month-end close and reporting, budgeting and technical projects.
Location: Hybrid position, 3 days required in office at FCNI's San Luis Obispo Office
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p
COMPENSATION
- Salary range: $76,960 - $ 115,440
- Exempt classification per FLSA
- Full-Time

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, or another business-related field including:
- Five or more years' experience in a supervisory/management position in accounting or possess a CPA licensure.
- Must be knowledgeable of the fundamentals of non-profit accounting techniques and possess an excellent knowledge of GAAP and non-profit GAAP. It is preferred that the Accounting Manager have an understanding of federal and California non-profit law.
- Must have extensive experience in computerized systems and their functionality, including accounting software, payroll software and Excel.
- Must have experience in payroll, payroll labor law, benefits administration including health insurance administration, 403(b) plan administration, and experience in preparation and support for financial audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties may be included:
- Assist the CFO in supervising the accounting team in their roles, ensuring compliance with proper accounting procedures.
- Benefits Administration: Process enrollments and changes, reconcile billing and process premium payments, act as the point person for all staff inquiries and questions.
- Worker’s Compensation: Reconcile billing and process payments, data entry, and administer claims.
- UKG: Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, maintain employee and payroll data.
- Reconcile all agency bank statements and prepare quarterly tax returns.
- Collaborate with IT department to develop system requirements that satisfy business requirements for payroll accuracy.
- Accounts Payable: Enter vendor invoices into Financial Edge, weekly invoice payment processing,
- Accounts Receivable: Provide support in the collection of outstanding accounts receivable invoices; oversee company credit card account.
- General Ledger reconciliation and reporting.
- Provide support in performing document storage and maintenance.
- Provide support in maintaining agency vendor documents and contract renewal periods.
- Provide support in management of staff time off requests.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
