Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will use your lived experience to provide emotional support, mentorship, and guidance to individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other life transitions. You will foster hope, resilience, and empowerment while helping individuals achieve their recovery goals and improve their quality of life.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one and group peer support to individuals in recovery.
  • Share your lived experience in a professional and meaningful way to inspire and motivate others.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individualized recovery plans.
  • Assist clients in accessing resources, services, and community supports.
  • Facilitate educational workshops, support groups, and skill-building activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Document interactions and progress in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Skills

  • Lived experience with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other relevant life experiences.
  • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or willingness to obtain certification.
  • High school diploma; additional education or training in social services, psychology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and community resources.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
