Seeking a highly qualified and passionate professional to support Family Centers’ Pathways to Employment Growth Program (PEG) by providing career services and linkages to training opportunities to low-income individuals and families in Fairfield County.
The Role
In this full time position, the incumbent will assist participants in enhancing their employability and earning potential by providing individual and group career readiness services. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for assisting individuals with barriers to employment to find comprehensive and relevant training and prepare for competitive employment in their community.

Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering health, education and human service program to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. Our team includes 300 professionals and over 500 trained volunteers collaborate to provide our communities with a wide range of responsive and innovative services. Through our comprehensive network of services, more than 23,000 children, adults, families and communities receive the care, encouragement and resources needed to realize their potential.

Job Function
- Conduct community outreach and recruitment services to targeted populations
- Conduct needs assessments for referred clients and assist with development of goals and plans
- Participate in case coordination with providers and community partners
- Develop and facilitate workshops and events to increase client self sufficiency
- Develop and foster a network of potential employers, employment agencies, organizations and/or community agencies that will support clients’ goals.
- Effectively manage cases from start to finish, including gathering information, assessing needs, developing, and implementing plans.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years related experience in career exploration and development
- Ability to:
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Work effectively with persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities
- Carry out responsibilities with flexibility to adapt to changing needs and goals
- Promote positive public relations and represent Family Centers to the community
- Communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated excellent case work and presentation skills; ability to collaborate and network
- Experience working with diverse individuals and coaching adults preferably in a vocational/job related capacity
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, and willingness to learn and use electronic health records
- Must have access to a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and up-to-date auto insurance
- Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
