QUALIFICATIONS:
*3 years of a related apprenticeship
*Ability to estimate materials and labor costs for projects
*Not afraid of heights
*Valid driver's license
*Ability to lift 50#
*Repair, maintain, and renovate existing masonry structures
*Frame carpentry work related to masonry projects
*Own your own trade-related hand tools
*Passion for masonry
*Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
*Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and speaking
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CHIMNEY REPAIR MASON
As a Chimney Repair Mason, you perform the repairs to our clients' chimneys through duties such as cutting or grinding materials, laying brick or stone, handling power tools, and more. You work in all types of weather as you lift and carry heavy objects. When assembling, you carefully lay brick, stone, and other masonry materials according to the plan. You mix cement and mortar, restore old and damaged masonry work, set scaffolds or ladders, and work on rooftops. As needed, you also install liners, maintain tools, clean the job site, and train apprentices.
