Before and After Care Assistant-Part Time Only

Family Development Services (FDS) is a provider of high-quality childcare and pre-kindergarten education. We are thrilled to share that over 2,500 children in Hamilton and Marion County, Indiana were able to receive services from FDS. This is not a daycare!

As a provider of Head Start programming, FDS maintains high quality standards to ensure all students are receiving the best opportunity for success. With 10 locations across the Greater Indianapolis area, FDS has many opportunities for educators and students alike.

All of our positions require employees to be passionate, caring, flexible, and motivated. These are face to face roles that require you to be in person, working with children, and communicating with parents regularly.

Pay: $18 Per Hour: Part-time

1 Year of Childcare Experience is REQUIRED no exceptions!

Hours Required for position: Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30AM & 3-5PM no exceptions

Before & After School Educators perform any combination of the following instructional and supervision tasks in the classroom to ensure that children are engaging in a high quality developmentally appropriate activities that support their learning and development.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome: Greet parents and children warmly.
• Communicate: Interact respectfully with everyone.
• Plan Lessons: Create age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise: Watch children closely.
• Engage: Participate in activities with children.
• Teach: Use various methods to support learning.
• Serve Meals: Help during meals and complete necessary paperwork.
• Clean: Keep the classroom safe and tidy.
• Report Incidents: Document and report any issues quickly.
• Lift: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds if needed.
• Learn: Complete assigned training.
• Assist: Do other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED; CDA preferred.
• Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions.
• Language: Read and understand English instructions.
• Math: Basic math skills.
• Reasoning: Solve simple problems.
• Computer: Use Microsoft Outlook and the internet.

Physical Requirements:

• Talk, hear, stand, walk, sit on the floor, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required.

Work Environment:

• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather.
• Moderate to loud noise levels.

• Specialized Staffing recruits for Family Development Services (FDS), but all full-time positions are direct hire into the company. Specialized Staffing never charges candidates for service.

• No weekends
