What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Worker position at Family Enrichment Network, Inc.?
The Food Service Worker prepares meals for children attending full and part-day classroom sessions at all agency ites.
- Notifies Teachers of special diets as directed by the Health Service Coordinator.
- Notifies food transport aides of any food allergy or preference changes.
- Receives and inspects with food vendors incoming deliveries for quality and quantity.
- Assists in the orientation training of food service aides.
- Serves as a member of the Menu Planning Committee.
- Participates in nutrition training and shares information.
- Prepares breakfasts and lunches according to the menu.
- Prepares food for morning and afternoon snacks.
- Sets up food servings for Cherry Street site.
- Keeps the food service area neat and clean in compliance with sanitary codes for kitchen facilities.
- Launders kitchen linens and apparel.
- Transports food and dishes to and from sites when needed.
- Ensures equipment is in working order. Works with the Food Service Coordinator in the purchase of new equipment.
- Signs for and stores food deliveries and assists with the inventory of food supplies and equipment.
- Prepares food for special functions as needed.
- Assists in implementing and adheres to Head Start Performance Standards, specifically 1304.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
