What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer 2025 Programmatic Support Intern position at Family Futures?
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated intern to join our team in implementing programmatic upgrades focused on enhancing our services through innovative strategies. This internship offers the opportunity to engage in higher-level work that emphasizes trauma-informed practices and updating our integration of Societal Determinants of Health in our assessment procedures.
This internship will run from May 12th, 2025, through August 29th, 2025 and will have a mandatory orientation on May 8th, from 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Family Futures’ office. This internship can also be extended into multiple internship periods ending in either December 2025 or May 2026. If interested in a longer internship period, please reach out to the hiring manager.
Family Futures employees, volunteers, and interns serve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve. A position at Family Futures may entail the following: the use of a personal vehicle, lifting of boxes (roughly 25 lbs.), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduled hours. Key Responsibilities:
1. Re-engagement Strategies:
- Collaborate on piloting strategies aimed at re-engaging clients and communities.
- Assist in developing outreach materials and communication plans to support re-engagement efforts.
2. Trauma-Informed Practices:
- Research and assist in adopting trauma-informed best practices within the organization.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to deepen understanding of trauma-informed care.
3. Societal Determinants of Health Needs Assessment:
- Support the implementation of a new needs assessment focused on societal determinants of health.
- Analyze data and provide insights to inform programmatic decisions and improvements.
4. Program Evaluation:
- Assist in evaluating existing programs and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Contribute to the development of metrics for measuring the effectiveness of new strategies and practices.
- Conduct follow-up surveys to gather feedback for quality improvement.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to promote integration of new practices.
- Engage in regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and insights gained throughout the internship.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in program development, trauma-informed care, and community health.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience in social services or community work is a plus.
