We are looking for a Child Care workers to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of our residents in our facilities. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them with the day to day Independent Living skills. Everybody needs a job but only extraordinary people work here. You would be responsible for providing supervision, protection and care of children. Maintains appropriate boundaries with residents and staff. Duties include behavioral monitoring, intervention & documentation of resident care activities. Demonstrates strong relationships and the ability to motivate, set limits and encourage overall growth, other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Youth Direct Care Staff shall meet one of the following qualifications
1. Previously been employed as a full-time staff or served as a volunteer at a group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year or
2. Relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health, and juvenile justice systems as a consumer, mentor, caregiver, or other relevant experience as determined by the department or
3. Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
4. Completed 12-semester units of Early Childhood Education or Psychology
- Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Basic understanding of first aid and CPR procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of residents
- 21 or older
- Live Scan Clearance
- Physical and TB Clearance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transporting residents to appointments or community outings
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental and/or developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement individualized care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident
- Promote independence and community integration for individuals
- Monitor and document residents' progress and behaviors
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being of residents
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
